MISPA Ethics 2025

Mercury Internet School of Psychological Astrology

Code of Ethics

I wish to receive the Diploma of the Mercury Internet School of Psychological Astrology (MISPA) and agree to accept the conditions given below:

  1. At all times I will endeavour to enhance the good name of astrology and to refrain from behaviour likely to bring astrology into disrepute. I will keep myself abreast of the laws and regulations present in my country and work within them to the best of my ability.
  2. I will respect the name and standing of the Mercury Internet School of Psychological Astrology (MISPA), to uphold its high standards at all times and to refrain from behaviour likely to bring MISPA into disrepute.
  3. I will respect the dignity and worth of every human being and their right to self-determination. I will accept a responsibility to encourage and facilitate the self-development of the client, whilst having due regard for the interests and rights of others, and to act in a manner that upholds that.
  4. I will preserve the confidentiality and anonymity of a client and all material relating to a client. I will take great care in the publication or presentation of case material and to maintain that anonymity unless the client otherwise agrees. I will handle and store sensitive personal information and data in a manner that ensures its safety and privacy for the client.
  5. I will ensure that a client is made fully aware of the method of working, the duration and nature of the consultation(s) and the fees involved before any work is undertaken.
  6. I will ensure that potential clients, whose needs are beyond the competence of an individual astrologer, are referred to appropriate individuals or agencies.
  7. I will refrain from offering any medical, psychological, legal or financial advice to a client on astrological grounds unless the appropriate skills or qualifications have been obtained and enable me to do so in a safe and professional manner.
  8. I will refrain from making public comments or predictions on the personal or emotional life of public figures or on the state of their health. Comments on public figures I make should be concerned solely with the role for which they are known. Any comments like this or public statements should not be made in a manner likely to bring astrology or MISPA into disrepute or cause detrimental effects.
  9. I will use non-judgemental and respectful communication and refrain from use of any form of hate speech and harm inducing communication. I will be aware of and avoid imposing own values, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours on the contents of the reading and on the client.
  10. In addition in all my astrological work I will observe the following:
    1. Where the times of an individual’s birth is unknown, or is not known with reasonable accuracy, I will explain clearly that any interpretation should not be regarded as complete.
    2. I will always make an original and individual study of the case before me, basing my interpretation on the data and personal information supplied. Any abstracts taken from another’s writings will be acknowledged.
    3. I will not include anything in the interpretation which is not based on true astrology. Should I wish to insert any advice or information derived from other sources I will write this separately and state that it is not founded on astrology.
    4. I will respect all information which is given to me in confidence by the client and never at any time publish, quote from, or in any way use charts of any person by name or other means of identification without prior permission.
    5. Before using any new theories in my astrological work, I will always endeavour to test their validity, if possible by accepted statistical methods.

I understand that in the event of my wilful and serious violation of this Code of Ethics the Mercury Internet School of Psychological Astrology (MISPA) has the right to withdraw my Diploma.
